ive also tried some opengl apps on my desktop running XGL and it seems that there is no hardware accelerated rendering. i tried quake3/urban-terror and my processor usage jumped to 100% throughout the game ( i have a 3 ghz P4 hyper threading and a nvidia 6600GT ) ive seen that sort of usage only when playing doom3/quake4 and on top of that i couldnt run the game properly as several textures wernt rendering. this was fixed by shutting off the GL extensions but that reduces the quality of the gameplay as its running on the software engine now.

google earth works fine too, no problems there. cant wait till they have XGL doing direct rendering.
