Any way to boot installed openSUSE using the CD

Hi!

I'm dual booting with openSUSE 11 and windows xp.

For a couple of weeks ago, I changed the bootloader in openSUSE, and choosed LILO. Now, when I'm booting, i get this message, and can't boot openSUSE:
"LILO 22.7 loading windows"
Therefore, are there any way to boot the installed openSUSE from the CD, or are there a shortcut to boot openSUSE, so I can change the settings?
I have no problems booting windows.

Thanks in advance!

Is there a reason to go for LILO instead of GRUB ?
That is long time ago that use Lilo , but what is the contains of Lilo.conf ?
Yes you can boot opensuse from the CD using the option Boot from Hard drive

Hi, and thanks!

Actually, I don't know why i choosed LILO instead of GRUB.
I can't boot my openSUSE, so I can't see what the Lilo.conf contains. When I uses the CD, and boots from my hard drive, I get the same message "LILO 22.7 loading windows" and it boots windows.

So, how can I access my files without booting my openSUSE installation, so I can see what the Lilo.conf contains and go Grub again?

I have tried to uninstall openSUSE (It's okay to solve the problem this way), but after a reboot, I couldn't boot at all (because my pc is missing the bootloader). So it's okay if I can change the bootloader to the default windows bootloader, and then reinstall openSUSE.

Thanks!

You can reinstall opensuse and let her use the same space she use now and use GRUB as the boot loader.
She will install GRUB if you tell her to do so
In this case you have to enter the BIOS set up and choice the CD or DVD as the first boot able device
But you can also repair Windows boot loader

That sounds great!

I'm not experienced with openSUSE, so I don't know how to tell the installer, that I want to use GRUB. How do I do that?

So you know how to do it
If you reinstall opensuse on the same space it occupied now it automatic choose Grub as a boot loader
If you know on which drive GRUB was installed and if the Cd has a rescue mode type the next commands in the rescue mode to reinstall GRUB
chroot/mnt/sysimaqge
grub install /dev/sd?
sd? is the drive where GRUB was
Or a other linux rescue CD

I don't think my cd has a rescue mode (definitely not if it should be visible in the boot menu)
I can try reinstalling opensuse (are there a special way to do this, or am I going to install it on the same partion?). I'll follow up tomorrow.

Thanks for helping a helpless boy

Thank you very much!
