Question Any HP Scanject 3500c Scanner support?

G'day,

Now I've installed 9.3 I'm looking to do much more in Linux (It's what I expected from 9.1 when I originally purchased it).

Most things are working well, however, my scanner (HP scanjet 3500c) seems unsupported (in Kooka anyway). I've tried installing it as few other models with no success. Is anyone aware if it will work?

Cheers

I have the same problem. My Mandriva 2006 can not work with HP Scanjet 3500c.
Kooka identify correctly my scanner but when I try to use it , after few seconds kooka became unstable or program crashes.
How can I use my good HP Scanjet 3500c with my Mandriva 2006 ? Anybody solved yet my problem ?
I must buy a new scanner ? or I can use my HP scanner with less features ?
Please, don't tell me that I must go back to Windows to use it !!!

Have you installed the hpoj drivers? (HP officejet)
http://hpoj.sourceforge.net/

There is scanner support there. My HP PSC 1315 is supported and it scans well under Linux. Mostly the OJ drivers should help with HP scanning support under Linux.

HP 3500c

Yes, I tried to use my scanner after installation of HPOJ drivers, but my scanner starts to work and when the lamp arrives in the middle of scanning area the software stops with a message:
Window with title "KDE Scanning - Kooka" is not responding. This window belongs to application kooka (PID=4199, hostname=localhost).
Do you wish to terminate this application? (All unsaved data in this application will be lost.)

Hm... Maybe your model is not fully supported by the driver?

Or you can try some other method to access the scanner or with a different app...
