Adding a shell script to startup


Hi i want to as something about suse 10.0 i wrote a shell script and i want it to be start on startup i looked for .bash_profile file but i couldnt see it how can i make my script start on system startup

what do you mean precisely for system startup?
before loading kdm/gdm? after logging in?
