9.3 updating system config problem


When i try and edit my k menu or set file associations it says "Updating System Configuration" but nothing happens. How can i fix this?

This might be because your config files are corrupted:

rm ./.kde/share/config/kmenueditrc -f

The dir ~/.local stores your custom added menus in kmenu.
Perhaps delete ~/.local and retry.

Warning: All your "newly" added menu's will be lost (if you delete)

What about the file association thing. For example if i set *.exe files to wine it will not save the association. What might be the cause of that.

I couldn't figure it out so i just did a fresh install and now everything works fine. Thanks anyway.

When you edit K menu, you must do a save for it to take. Click on the floppy icon.
