xorg, xsun, ARG!!!!
OK, I have installed Solaris 10 on my system. I told it to use the XF86-NV driver for my GeForce FX5200 and now I am stuck in 640X480 when running Solaris (I am in Linux right now). I don't understand this since 1024X768 was working just fine during the install.
There is no /etc/X11/xorg.conf like in Linux. I am assuming I am running the XSun server. How can I switch to X.org and where is the config file for x.org in Solaris. Also, why is there no graphical config tools in Solaris like in Linux, or am I just not noticing them? |

kdmconfig is your friend here. Read the man page of kdmconfig. Also plenty of documentation is out there at docs.sun.com Also, why is there no graphical config tools in Solaris like in Linux .. What are you trying to configure? |
You have two x-server options ... xorg or xsun ... xorg is probably the better for you. Use this command to select either:
#kdmconfig To set-up your xorgconfig file, just type: #/etc/X11/bin/xorgconfig and work through the same questions as usual. Or you could just follow the directions on this link to get the great new nvidia driver up and running ... http://www.nvnews.net/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=51439 |
