Hi!

I'd assume, as is generally the case, that the best version for you is the latest (Solaris 10). You'd need 256 MB of RAM and a 120MHz processor, both of which you have.

As for installing, I'd suggest that you go to http://www.sun.com/software/solaris/index.jsp. Sun made it, after all. ;)

And yes, Solaris is free.

If you are not requiring formal support, the best Solaris version is always the latest Solaris Express build, currently 54.

If you want another advice, try finding some more RAM for your PC.

thanks Gad it is free ...maybe Solaris 10 is best for my computer..but what about Solaris Express 11/06 can it work in my computer with out problem.. also i see that requirement for it i still want your answer..

Well, Solaris Express 11/06 will run on your computer just as well (or otherwise) as Solaris 10 would. The hardware requirements are identical: http://www.sun.com/software/solaris/solaris-express/

It's also free for noncommercial use, which is nice, but the free version doesn't come with any nice support or anything. Of course, if you're not looking for it, that's no problem.

Hardware support is generally better with Solaris express, as more up to date and new drivers are included.
