Anyone have experience with the wake on lan feature on sparc/solaris architecture? At the first, is there any such feature? And if, how does it works? I have tried to search the web for info but canīt find any relevant.
The computer is an Enterprise 250 server with 2x400mhz plugs, and 1gb memory. The running system is solaris 10.
There is no wake on lan support with the E250. The closest feature would be using a RSC (optional) card that allows powering on / off from a serial connection.
Distribution: Solaris 9 & 10, Mac OS X, Ubuntu Server

I'd be really curious to know why you would want a wake on lan for a server class machine (granted, pretty old, but I'm still running several of those). They're designed to be running all the time and usually have services that outside users are connecting to and want a reasonably quick response. Mine are serving web, email, samba, ftp, license server, and so on for hundreds of users.
