Arrow unable to get gui once solaris 10 is installed


i have installed solaris 10 on my system which is having intel processor and i have installed it on vmvare and also given 20 gb space installation was sucessful but gui is not comming up pls help

Have a look at the X server logs (/var/log/Xorg.0.log).

Hi,

I had the same issues during the first install.

The reason was lack of disk space for all the Java components to install.
If this is the case, then select Custom Install and then you can manually partition your amount of space needed.
Then select END USER INSTALL instead of FULL PACKAGE...

Are you dual booting with any other OS??

It worked for me.

Be warned that a lot of problems are due to an End User vs Full Install choice.

Yep...your right...

For example, the SMC does not want to execute....or it does execute but cannot dicover the server.

But at least got my desktop system to work.
