can you tell me what are the files should i need to remove from the root file system and I moved many files from root file system to /second_root directory and even it is showing same thing
|
I can't. You need to figure out what is filling your root file system. By the way, moving files outside it have no effect if the files are still open by a process.

Have a look in the /var directory, especially /var/crash, /var/tmp, /var/logs and /var/pkg.
This command will show you the 100 largest files there: Code:
find /var -type f -exec ls -s {} + | sort -n | tail -100 |
ufs: NOTICE: alloc: /: file system full+sxde
I ran your command it has come with this files
Code:
bash-3.2# find /var -type f -exec ls -l {} + | sort -n | tail -100 Code:
/var/tmp: and here is the output for /var/log Code:
/var/log: |

You are using blastwave which is duplicating a lot of system packages and libraries, probably the main reason why your root directory is full. You can remove the /var/log/postrun.log, /var/adm/messages.* and /var/tmp/output* files. That isn't going to recover a lot of space though.
Next step would be to merge / and /export/home in a single filesystem but that isn't a simple / riskless task. |

thanks for your help and I am afraid to do merging / file system with /export/home? anyother solution?
