trying to install solaris 9 OS on Sun Ultra 80

Hi all, I downloaded the ISO CD images for Solaris 9 from SUN and burned them to a CD. I placed this CD into the Ultra 80 and booted off the CDROM and it fails to boot. I get the following errors:

Rebooting with command: boot cdrom
Boot device: /pci#1f,0/pci@1,1/ide@3/cdrom@2,0:f File and args:
Short disk read
The file just loaded does not appear to be executable.
Boot device: cdrom File and args:
Can't read disk label.
Can't open disk label package
Evaluating: boot

Can't open boot device

ok

Can anyone pelase help?

Thanks,
Mike

It seems to be most likely it would be a bad burn. How did you burn the iso's, any particular program, etc?

Does the system currently boot to disk? If yes, see if you can mount the CD after booting into the existing OS. If you can verify that the CD is good (either in this machine or another one), you might try reinstalling the boot block from the Solaris 9 CD. Do a google search for installboot and bootblk and you should come up with some relevant links. I've seen this behavior before when a system would boot from an older version but not the current one. Warning: this may impact your ability to boot into your current OS.
