Solaris and Linux connectivity..

I have a query regarding ethernet and infiband connectivity in between the two servers.I have Linux machine at one end and solaris at the other end. I have Ethernet IP 10.x.x.x supplied to linux machine and IP 10.x.x.x to the Solaris machine. I can ssh and ping the two machine. Now I have Infiband cable connnected directly between the same machine. Infiniband interface ibd0 and ib0 in solaris and linux are up and working. I supplied 192.168.0.1 to solaris and 192.168.0.2 to linux. When I am trying to ping from linux to solaris it is routing through the 10.x.x.x gateway.Any idea how can I ping the two infiniband card.

And are you

Are you pinging by name or ip address?

What is the subnet and broadcast definition for those two interfaces?

What is the point hiding addresses that are not routable through the Internet anyway ?
What says on both sides:
Code:
ifconfig -a
netstat -rn
traceroute 192.168.0.1
traceroute 192.168.0.2
?

I have Ethernet IP 10.14.214.193 supplied to linux machine and IP 10.14.214.194 to the Solaris machine. I can ssh and ping the two machine. Can you please answer to the questions asked by wpeckham and myself. It is hard to help with so little clues.
