Solaris 9 detects only one LUN

Hi guys,

I have done the following but I get something weird..

1. Initialized the 6 external disk of a Storedge3310 using RAID1 to create one logical drive.

2. The created logical dirve was then partitioned in 2 partitions..

Parition0:
Partition1:

3. I have added the luns…..both to the primary controller (channel1)

lun0 -> parition0
lun1-> partition1

4. Added the lun to the /kernel/drv/sd.conf file..added..

Name="sd" class="scsi"
target=0 lun=1;

5. /usr/sbin/devfsadm & reboot -- -r

6. when I do a format now…I see only ONE lun……when I select the disk and look at it…

Part Tag Flag Cylinders Size Blocks
0 root wm 0 - 127 128.00MB (128/0/0) 262144
1 swap wu 128 - 255 128.00MB (128/0/0) 262144
2 backup wu 0 - 29997 29.29GB (29998/0/0) 61435904
3 unassigned wm 0 0 (0/0/0) 0
4 unassigned wm 0 0 (0/0/0) 0
5 unassigned wm 0 0 (0/0/0) 0
6 usr wm 256 - 29997 29.04GB (29742/0/0) 60911616
7 unassigned wm 0 0 (0/0/0) 0

Questions:

1. I should see two luns…..any idea?

/Chris

Chris,

Do you see just lun 1 and not lun0? If so, you need to add lun 0 to the sd.conf as well.

Controller Mapping

Chris,

Also, if you have dual controllers, you should map a lun to each one for performance reasons.
