Solaris 9: could not run `svcs` to list service running

Hi Bros,
Need your help to solve the problem. I am just newbie.
from Solaris 9 box, i could not run the `svcs` for checking services on the server.

I don't think that Solaris 9 uses svcs. You should go with the traditional /etc/inetd.conf and the files in /etc/init.d /etc/rcX.d

Thanks for your help
I am clear now
* There is one more question:
- files in /etc/init.d are statup scripts?

thanks
