serious problem after copying file to /usr/lib in solaris10
I am not familiar with unix system. Today, i hv implemented some software and it requires some 'so' library. It cant locate the required 'so' files in /usr/local/lib. So i decide to cp all the files in /usr/local/lib to /usr/lib. Then the java desktop system cant function properly. I cant login to the JDS but can still login to common desktop envirnoment. Is there any method other than format to solve this situation? I guess the reason is after executing the cp command, some of the files in /usr/lib is overwriiten by those in /usr/local/lib.
I would say fresh install time - or if you had not really added anything and you have another sol10 machine that is up on your network then NFS share /usr/local/lib and rsync it over to the messed up machine - but thats a suggestion and what I would do - also all you needed to do was add /usr/local/lib to your path - or make a link to the .so files in /usr/lib - thats what the forums are for - ask - and I mean that in the nicest way
