Really dumb question

Someone gave me a sun ray thin client to help me on some other projects. It will really not work for my cause. I was thinking of setting up a solaris x86 based server on an old machine. Is it a big deal for the server to support the sun ray 1? It has been years since I set up a solaris machine. I could always use it as a nifty looking usb charger, i guess.

Please use a descriptive subject to your threads.

What exactly is the issue you have with setting up a sun ray server ? Solaris installation ? SRSS installation ? H/W requirements ?

Whay wasn't the Sun Ray working for your project ?

I have not used Solaris in years. I need to see what the bsd's may have also. I have not seen anything for yet ltsp or drbl that easily supports that particular thin client. We have Compaq t20/30's that work just fine and they are x86 compatible based. I wanted to stay with that architecture for that framework. The Solaris server will NOT be a production machine. I just wanted to set it up for grins with just the one thin client to see if I could do it. You never stop learning. With your questions, I think I may have the answer I am looking for. At least I know where to start looking. Actually I probably will be using an old p2 for a server. I think the last time I did a setup was it v2.x was on a p1. Thanx for the replys!
