pkg from sunfreeware not pkgadd-ing??


can anyone help why this isn't working?
stuff on the DVD loads ok.

got two packages from sunfreeware which don't add
this one below and python.

# ls lsof-4.77-sol10-x86-local
lsof-4.77-sol10-x86-local

# pkgadd -d .  lsof-4.77-sol10-x86-local
pkgadd: ERROR: no packages were found in </export/home/billy/app-downloads>

# export NONABI_SCRIPTS=TRUE
# pkgadd -d .  lsof-4.77-sol10-x86-local
pkgadd: ERROR: no packages were found in </export/home/billy/app-downloads>

Try this

Using pkgadd u can install SW Packages starting with the string SUNW
In This case, browse cd/dvd for any setup/exe file and execute

yes I know, no problem with the DVD packages.
these were downloaded from sunfreeware.org

Remove the dot "." in your command:

Actually this prefix is just a convention, i.e. have the package creator stock acronym, or equivalent be prepended.
As this package is from a non Sun site, its name must not start with SUNW.

This package is under the package datasteam format, it can be installed by giving directly its name as bathory already explained, or it can be converted to the more common directory format using this other command:
