OpenSolaris network connection

I have installed opensolaris 9.6 on my hard disk no 1.
It installed successfully.
It is not detecting the network connection. I have tried nwam as well as physical configuring however it did not help.
I think it is because of following:
1. DSL is by MTNL and is through USB. The trouble may be overcome if I connect through ethernet??
2. My Smartlink 56 modem driver is not with opensolaris but that is dial up modem.
3. Or is opensolaris better with wireless modem or wired modem? Mine is wireed modem MT882 by mtnl.

Hello friends there. It would be great if we discuss this and how to overcome it.

Best of luck to all

There is a tool in the live CD that detects your hardware and tells if a drivers exists or not for it. Did you run it ?

In any case, OpenSolaris networking is commonly based on rj45 or wifi Ethernet. USB or dial-up modems are either unsupported or at best quite complex to set-up and not well documented.
