New Quiz - Solaris

Hehe! I've never used a Solaris system... so I think I fared quite well; better than random: 40%

40% here as well. it's definately a different dialect. no sun boxes in my immediate future.

Yeah those questions for the quiz I derived and based off some of the actual study guide questions for the actual exam from Sun. So its not really an easy test, meant to throw you off a bit. ;)

..yep was fun ! got alarmingly crap score even with a scoring bug ("boot server" question -was right - scored wrong, can I get an extra point for noticing that ? :)

If you email me what you answered we'll see if there is an error or not. From my standpoint I went over it and there shouldn't be any errors, you probably just got it wrong. Some of those questions there actually could have more than one right answer, but the trick part is you have to answer the better one out of them.

Hehe! I took a stupid computer test a while back. Basically each question had 4 possible answers... out of the 4 there were 4 correct answers! They were all different, but all correct. The purpose of it was to determine what type computer user you were - ranging from a simple point-and-click end user that had no interest in, say, which office program they used, so long as it was easy and did the job; all the way up to someone that was likely to go on to become a sysadmin. This was a good few years ago, and was pushed by the careers advisory service (certainly in Cornwall). Of course there was no option for 'all of the above'. D'oh!

Cant lie, 50% of the answers I got right (all two of em) were total guesses, the other one was an informed guess. Shame that just to my right I have my trusty (hah!) sparc5 :D

Solaris does my head in, wonder if I can slap linux on the box instead..... hmmm....

I've got to take issue with some of the questions your quiz marked my answers "wrong" for. I'm not just in denial, either! ;-)

Looking back at the man page, I see that I got the 'umountall' question just wrong. Oops.

Well, but it does say it will "only return if" all name services are checked, or something like that.

I would have gotten the hushlogin one wrong as well if not for this post... thanks! :)

Eck, just to clarify, most of these questions are derived from the actual Solaris Administration Study Exam. I have double checked them all and according to the Solaris Study Exams all the one's we have are correct.
As I stated the questions are made to be very tricky and some have multiple answers that could be right but the best choice will be the correct answer.
But next time please email us any concerns as posts like this can slightly give others a peek at what is to be expected on the quiz as one person now has just responded stating your post helped them get it right.

You missed 3 of them didn't you.. :p
But I only derived these from them.. they have been changed around a bit.
