network interface and usb devices not working..

hi everyone,

I just installed Solaris 10 3/05 S10_74L2a x86
on my home pc.

My motherboard comes with an in-built ethernet port for networking.

But after installing the OS, I can't access to the Internet (I logged in as root).

Then I do an ifconfig -a command, I see only the loop interface, my ethernet port interface connected to my modem is missing.

I also try to plug in an USB flash drive into my USB port but I cannot see what is inside my USB flash drive.

I have done a devfsadm -v command for that added USB flash drive.

anyone knows what go wrong?

any help given will be greatly appreciated.

thank you.

good day

What is your mother board model and manufacturer ?
Did you try to look at your mother board manufacturer site to see if there is solaris driver for your net card ?

My motherboard brand is Gigabyte.
And the model is GA-8IG1000MK.

Below is the link to the driver:
http://tw.giga-byte.com/Motherboard/...-8IG1000MK.htm

but I did not see any Solaris driver for my ethernet port.

Does that mean I cannot have Internet connection for The Solaris that I am using
if I use this motherboard?

Is that alternatives to this problem?

Hope someone can help me.

Thank you in advance.
