I would suggest doing a bit of a search around the net using searches such as "Solaris network configuration" or "Solaris network setup".

There seems to be pages of useful stuff out there. Also some sites have ebooks you can download and get up to speed on.

Good luck its a good OS to learn.

Just to fill in the blank left in the thread, and to do so with legitimately available material (of which there is a lot), here is the link to Sun's online documentation for Solaris 10.

And here is the link to the documentation resources on OpenSolaris. Those include some references to books you can buy, but also a large amount of web linked documentation.

I just ordered three books for myself on Amazon:

http://www.amazon.com/Solaris-Intern...0963424&sr=8-1

http://www.amazon.com/Solaris-Perfor...d_bxgy_b_img_b

http://www.amazon.com/Solaris-Applic...d_bxgy_b_img_c

What's cool is that one of the co-authors of the first two is going to be speaking on Performance, Observability and Debugging at the New England OpenSolaris Users Group on Sept. 10, 2009 in Burlington, Massachusetts, USA: http://www.opensolaris.org/os/projec...ifthneosugmtg/

I would have also gotten this one:

http://www.amazon.com/Solaris-10-Sys...ref=pd_sim_b_3

but it's not out yet.

Should be there. Try

$ svcs -l ssh

and see what it says. (By the way, that is a lower case letter el, not a one). Have you tried ssh'ing into it from another machine?
