Hi guys i tried to lower the size of my /home and increase / after reboot i received the following login problem... please see attached screenshot... i did try to manually fsck the slice for home but still same issue. is there a way to fix this w/o re-installing OS.

What filesystem type(s) are these, and how did you resize them?

Inode 2 being the root of a file system, here UFS, the fact fsck unexpectedly find it to be free is a bad omen.
Unless you had precious data on that file system you'd like to try recovering, just reinstall with a proper sizing, or better, as there is actually no such thing as a proper sizing, use ZFS instead of UFS. ZFS doesn't impose pre-sizing file systems. |
Thanks all :)
