Installing a tar.gz file in Solaris 10


I need to know what the commands are to unzip and install a tar.gz file. It is for vmware server tools. Thanks

To unzip the file run:
Code:
gunzip filename.tar.gz
tar xvf filename.tar
As for the installation you should read the instructions in a file named INSTALL or README or something like that in the newlly created directory. It must be done by runnig some installation script (e.g. sh install.sh)
