Hardware graphics question

I have a Sun Blade 1000 and it has been working nicely for a long time. It came with a PCI ATI graphics card. It has a VGA and DVI connector. Does that mean I have dual head capabilities? I have so far only used it with a monitor connected to the VGA output.

I checked up on the possibilities for a more fun graphics card, and finally bought a SUN Elite 3D m6- It would fit nicely in the topmost slot. But the sound outputs are there, so I put in the loser slot. That slot though, has another unused slot inline.

Bottom line: Can I run both cards simultaneously and have three monitors connected?

I hesitate to turn the machine on before making certain I don't do something foolish. But I would enjoy immensely to move it up from being cool, to seriously useful.

Nothing to it but to do it guy. You can at least power it on and see whats happens, it shouldnt blow up. If anything the primary monitor will power on & the other 2 will be black. I've never worked with a SUN system but I doubt theres too much difference.

That being said when powered on all 3 might activate but there probably a slim chance. Most likely a little configuration to the video settings will have to take place. Even still don't count on getting great resolutions & high frame rates.

Good Luck

Thanks for the addon. Naturally, I'd like a superior rigg that blows everything else out of the water. But I'll be happy if it works. So far though, I don't have the machine and a 13W3 capable monitor at the same place. So still no test.
