Gnome 3 in OpenIndiana

... this is only wishful thinking...

Is there an hypothesis that the next OI release will ship Gnome 3.0...?

I doubt it as there's no official news on their site about the same.

openindiana upcoming development release.

A new release is coming anytime soon hopefully Q2/3 2011. This will as I understand it not be launched with Gnome 3. There seems to be a lot of changes to the distro around Illuminos which is more focused on integration, bugs, and architecture.I also understand the new release of XFCE 4.8 may also be ported soon. You might try KDE 4.6
