from solaris to windows telnet is possible?


hello every body



iam using ibm e server 226 in that i installed solaris 10 can i want to connect solaris to windows through tel net services if it is possible expline me in brief

You need to enable, if it exists, the telnet service on your Windows box. If not, then you need to install a telnet server there.

i able to connect to windows from solaris .

but iam not able to connect from windows to solaris

help me to connect fromm windows to solaris

through using the service of telnet

You'd rather use ssh, telnet is unsecure.

If you really want to enable telnet on the Solaris box, you need to install a patch first.

thanks for helping,

i have using telnet services of solaris and windows,


i got the new problem in samba.

to start the samba four pakages requried

1)SUNWsmbar
2)SUNWsmbau
3)SUNWsmbac
4)SUNWsmbaS

i am geting first three pakages installed in my system. but the last one iam not getting it why? i downloaded sun solaris from www.sun.com, is it not fullversion? and iam aslo not getting C,C++,languages wiht my cd?

while i checked 4th cd i got only four pakages directory .

help me.

The last package is Samba source code. It is not required to run the service.
