Exporting the same folder with NFS and SMB.

Hi.

I would like to share the same directory on Solaris 10 by using NFS and SMB. Is there any issue, prerequisite or recommendation I should be aware of before trying doing this?

Thanks for your information,
Enrico

No, it should work, as I've done this here at the office before. However, expect some real entertainment with file-locking, especially between local (on the Solaris box), SMB mounted (Windows), and NFS (other Unix/Linux systems), clients. If you're using it for data sharing, i.e., departmental shared drive, you'll probably be fine.

Thank you TB0ne,

I'm psychologically prepared for file locking problems...

Bye,
Enrico
