Dear Friends

I am a newbie u can say yet not born wanting to install sun solaris on my pc. But it is not happening. I think this is related to RAM. My RAM is 256MB .I need to know what is the minimum RAM to install SUN SOLARIS. My processor is 1.6 Intel.

It is booting stage2 boot loader and showing like this menu

Sun Solris
Sun Solris with ttya
Sun Solris with ttyb (.........)

when I press for first one this hangs up on

Configuring Devices_

no progress from this state

Minimum RAM size depends on the precise release you want to install. Even if yours support it, 256 MB is too low for most use.

I suspect your H/W is unsupported. Use one of these tools to check it: http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...12#post2732812

PS: I've moved your question to a new thread as it was unrelated to the one you posted to.
