Cross-compiling using x86 linux, for UltraSPARC III Cu running SunOS 5.8

Hi,
Could anybody point me in the right direction as to how to compile some (pretty much standard) C code on my x86 box running linux that will run on a UltraSPARC III Cu box running SunOS 5.8? How difficult is it to set GCC up to do this? I read that I have to have the binutils from the other box to make it work, is this true (I don't have them right now, but I could probably get them if necessary).

Thanks,
Marshall

I think it would be far easier to buy a cheap SPARC based server on eBay or similar for this task than to try to build a cross compiling environment ...
