Copper core Ultrasparc III on a Blade 1000
 

We had a Blade 1000 lose a processor, and we are getting ready to replace it. I went to the sun page and looked at spare parts for the 1000 and selected the 900MHz psr and the processor for the Blade 2000 popped up.

Now for the dumb question, can I really mix a 900MHz Ultrasparc III psr with a 900MHz Cu Ultrasprac III psr on a Blade 1000 board?

I'm not totally positive on that one but if you select a part to replace for a particular machine, and it gives you a different one than what you had before, I would assume that that's its replacement now. Maybe they don't offer the older part, etc no longer.

I would check with sun though before making the final decision, just to be certain it is compatible.
