Change screen resolution?

Is it possible once the system is running?

During install I'm able to select the proper resolution, and the installer runs in it. However, after install the system drops back down to 640x480 and I'm unable to change it.

X knows about the higher resolutions, but I haven't found a way to change it in CDE, and JDE only lists 640x480...

edit your xorg.conf file... section "Screen", subsection "Display"...

AFAIK you can do a "man xorg.conf" for the specifics...

EDIT: just realized this is the Solaris forum... i'm not even sure if Solaris uses x.org so if it doesn't just ignore my post...

It does. Someone else here found an xconfig app that works now (at about the same time I was posting)! Funny how that works out, we've been beating on this computer for a couple days trying to get the screen right!

Anyways, turns out that you need to take away X's choices. It'll always take the worst possible choice
