Change background in solaris and Xterm background also

Hello guys,

I'm working with mandrake at home but at the university they do have the Solaris system installed...I've been wondering if it is possible to change the background in the Solaris system and put whatever picture we want...I've seen some guys do it but they told me that they had to change something in a file....if anyone could help me, it would be just to great :)

Also, final thing is that their Xtem has now a transparent backgroud and noone wanna tell how they did it...I would like to try it and again if anyone could explain to me step by step, that would be welcome :)

Thanxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

It depends of a lot of things... which desktop/window manager are they using? CDE? Gnome?. Also, as far as I know, xterm do no support transparency, so most likely, they are using aterm, which looks just like xterm and has a lot of cool features.

Best advice I would give you though, is to ignore those jerks. The hole point of being at school is to learn, share... if they wanna play bullies, screw them and get yourself a copy of Solaris for x86. It's free and you will learn much more important things then changing a background or adding transparency to a terminal...

My two swedish crowns :)

They are using CDE...The point is not only to change the background but I also wanna know how to do it so as they stop showing off....anyone do know how to make it, explanations are the most welcome....
