Sorry,
Don't quite know where I got that driver name from.
So I tried ifconfig with the proper interface name...
the results are the same.

You may have broken something by creating incorrectly named configuration files.

You should reboot, run "dmesg | grep e1000" then post the output.

Can't plumb NIC.

Here's the output...now I know where I got the "re" designation
