Boot error: Error 28 : Selected item cannot fit into memory
HI jlliagre & jschiwal ,
Thanks for your response, I turned on my PC to test those options. But system is booting only in "Failsafe" mode. While selecting the default option I am getting the error that File type is ufs , partition type 0xbf - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Error 28 : Selected item cannot fit into memory. Press Any key to continue... What may be the Problem?? ( Or this should be post as New thread???) reg Arun |
Moving to a new thread, as this is not related to tar options.
-- This is an error reported by grub before the O/S is loaded. It normally means the system cannot fit in the RAM but it could be something else. What precise Solaris version are you running ? How much RAM is available (run the "displaymem" command under grub command line). |
Version is 5.10 Generic_118855-33 i86pc i386 i86pc
RAM : 256 . (jlliagre I am so sorry that , I booked exam on this 23rd for 310-200, So I reinstalled the OS, to prepare for the exam. If it possible then kindly delete this thread, Sorry for the inconvenience..) reg Arun |
I would have tried with 512M, 256 is possibly too low for recent kernels.
So you reinstalled and it works now ? |
jlliagre ,
Reinstalled and it is working, What you said is true it is very very slow, Arun |
HI,
