Smile About Lan net sending

Could anyone tell me hoe to send messages through Solaris console in a local network?
And all of us login as "root" user, and the local network didn't connect to the internet. Are "wall","write" able to send the messages? Thankyou!

"talk root@hostname" should do the job but you may need to activate talkd in inetd.conf.
