A problem with audiohd driver arised with Solaris express Dev. ed. 5/07

Hi guys.

Last night I upgraded my Solaris 10 11/06 to Solaris Express Developer Edition 05/07 on my Sun Ultra 20 M2. After upgrading sound disappeared and it seems as audiohd driver doesn't work any more. Solaris Express installation upgraded the driver (SUNWaudiohd, which I previously upgraded with the workstation driver CD) and now, if I update_drv manually, it says that driver cannot attach.

Workstation data sheet says that it's compatible with this version of the system and device detection tool on solaris express DVD detects the driver. How can I troubleshoot the problem?

If you are sure the problem is reproductible by someone else, i.e. you didn't do anything outside upgrading, you may want to file a bug.

Provide as much detailed information as you can.

No... what I did was (Solaris 10 was preinstalled on the workstation):
- installing the last "tools and drivers cd" of the workstation
- installing Java System Application Server 9
- installing Netbeans 5.5.1
and everything was fine.

Yesterday I upgraded the system and since at first reboot audio wasn't working any longer.

If I manage doing a backup (that's why I upgraded instead of performing a fres install) I'll repeat the procedure and if it's the case I'll file a bug.

By the way, is there something I can do to troubleshoot why the driver doesn't want to attach?

If that was a live upgrade, you can switch back to Solaris 10.

Otherwise, I don't think there is a way to back-out an upgrade.

Finally, I had to reinstall...

I reinstalled Solaris 10 (11/06), I installed the Ultra 20 M2 tools and drivers CD (1.6a) and then I upgraded to Solaris Express Developer Edition 05/07... during first reboot an error message complaining about audiohd appeared.

Soon I discovered that the upgrade procedure leaves inexplicably broken (partially installed) the SUNWaudiohd. Reinstalling it fixes the problem.

I lost a couple of hours but, at least, verified that my first installation wasn't broken.
