The CD boots, but Slackware 10.2 won't recognise my harddrive, /dev/sda.
It's a newer DELL machine with Windows 2003 and Xandros OCD already installed (I want to switch from Xandros to Slackware.) Xandros sees the scsi drive fine, as do other linux Live CDs including Slax. /dev/hda and /dev/hdb are dvd drives and were recognised and mounted.
This is what I got when I tried to run fdisk:
Code:
# fdisk /dev/sda
Unable to open /dev/sda
I checked the load logs. sd returned nothing, but sc got some errors.
Code:
# dmesg | grep sc
kmod | failed to exec /sbin/modprobe -s -k scsi_hostadapter, errno = 2
kmod | failed to exec /sbin/modprobe -s -k scsi_hostadapter, errno = 2
kmod | failed to exec /sbin/modprobe -s -k scsi_hostadapter, errno = 2
Anybody know how to see my drive so I can start installing?
Thanks,
Tim
