Hi, I´ve been using Fedora core 1 for couple of months now (Knoppix before it).
Now I decided to try Slackware. I have got some problem with fedora and think
its quite heavy. I have read some Slackware instalation manuals but I just got
no clue howto install it.
Do I have to make bootdisk or can I boot straight with CD? Which ISO:s I have
to dowload (can I download just a first and install the rest from the net)?
How I recompile the kernel in installation? I will put Xfce4 to it (Gnome is too heavy,
but cant install Xfce on Fedora, dont know why ).
If someone could give me some instruckions or if you got link to a good
installation guide, please tell me.

Get slackware-9.1-install-d1.iso and optionally slackware-9.1-install-d2.iso for example from here.
You can boot from the first CD and also u dont need 2nd CD unless u want to install Gnome and KDE (but u can download it from internet later)


You can recompile kernel after installation. There is a nice sticky in slackware forum about how to do it

You don't need any installation guide. The only thing you do manually is the hard drive partitioning. If you need help there, let us know. Everything else is very straightforward, and you're carefully guided through it. Before you know it, you boot into your Darkstar Login... Good luck.
