Question Slackware Installation Help!

Hello Guys!

This is my issue:

1) I am runnig wins2kpro=9gb/mandrake9.1=10gb on a 30gb hd

2) I create extra partions to save my personal files 5gb

3) the other 5gb I want to try installing slackware 9.1 since I here is very
good the only problem is I have never used a non graphical installation!
I know it must not be easy but not impossible....since some of guys use!

4) Now the I have 5gb to use do i still have to create a swap partion for
slackware? since I already have one for mandrake?

5) I am using LILO which installed with mandrake...I see in slackware
installation guide that i have to install the Lilo, now do I have to
re-install it during slackware installation? and if I do it is save on the
MBR!

Thanks for your help!

You can use Mandrakes lilo to load slackware, but make sure you edit your lilo.conf in Mandrake and run lilo in Mandrake. As for the swap partition, they can use the same swap partition, it gets cleared when you do a swapon anyway.

I dont know what happened....but i lost my mandrake installation, and slackware doesnt boot neither. What went wrong?

After the installation I got a gray screen and the mouse was an "x" and it gave me the folling message: Kde could not start! and a botton that said click ok...and my monitor kept trying to do something and it gave me a message saying something about resuming in 5 minutes, any idea what happened here?

Can you post your XF86Config here?
This can be done by opening /etc/XF86Config.

Where is this error? In Slack, or in Mandrake?

by any chance how much do you know about college linux for what i read it is very similar to slackware....in other words i got the distro and made work fine with wins as dual boot....

can you also give me some advice in how setup a dsl connection using the command line...
