Slackware Install Guide?
I see that Slackware 10.2 now supports a 2.6.13 kernel so I can use my S-ATA drives and other features of an advanced PC. I tried 10.1 Slackware and did not have good luck at all and moved to Debian. I would now like to try Slackware 10.2 again but was wondering after I have all 4 ISO's burned to CD, is there a guide that will walk me through the set up of partitioning and installing on my 120GB S-ATA drive?

try the slackware book

best place to look is in the stickies at the top of this forum. I think there is a very thorough install guide there that walks you through it step-by-step. It's very good and should work for you no problem.
EDIT: the thread is titled "This is how i do it all" |
At least in 10.2, the install explains itself fairly well in the readme's as you go. A guide is definitely more thorough, I guess, especially if you're really new to all of the hardware-related decisions you end up making, but for me at least it was a smooth process guide-less.

The install guide (Slackware-HOWTO) is on your Slackware cd

Try different kernel options my SATA Drives work fine using sata.i on boot prompt from CD.
Use the Function keys [F2] or [F3] to see available options. |
