slackware and kde


im a windows user and wanted to explorer nix, so i took slack
i installed and all that good stuff and booted with floppy
but when i boot, i eventualy get to a root menu
How do i start/run kde?
(i installed everything*full install*)

I have the same problem. I have installed slackware 9.1, but cant get kde to run. All I get is a command line, and a penguin in the top left corner.

naw i dont even get that, i just see root(prolly username)
i wanna know the command and if that dosnt work ill comback and bitch again =)

You need to log in and type
startx

if you want to change the desktop manager type:
xwmconfig

just type startx once you're logged in

quick and dirty :P

I may give instructions on how to change configuration to enter GUI on boot once I know you all got to the user graphix interface!
