Slackware and Debian dual boot

Hi! I'd like to try Slackware on my laptop beside my Debian system. How can I partition my hard drive. My Debian is using grub but Slackware is use the lilo to load the system. Is this a problem to dual booting the two operating system?

When I dual boot Debian and Slackware I install Slackware as normal but miss out the step of installing lilo. Then I boot into Debian and run update-grub which picks up the Slackware install. Of course that would mean if I were to uninstall Debian Slackware would no longer boot either but at the moment that's not a concern for me.

I don't know grub that well, but I get along fairly well with Lilo. I would install Debian first, and then install Slackware. When you install Lilo, do an "expert" config, which will ask you to manually select your linux partitions. Simply select the Slackware partition first, and then add the Debian partition (assuming you want it to boot Slackware by default, otherwise reverse the order).

If for some reason that does not work, then when in you install Slackware just let Lilo automatically configure itself. If it doesn't pickup the Debian install, you can then manually edit lilo.conf and add it after the fact.

If you have trouble configuring Lilo, ask here.
