Slackware 9.0 install freezes trying to detect partitions on my 120 GB HDD
I booted off of the slackware 9 CD, and loaded the default bare.i (Like I've done before), and it detects everything jsut fine until it gets to the where it is says "detecting partitions on hde:"... and won't leave there. I left it alone for about 15 minutes, and it was still there.
I've got a Western digital 120GB HDD and a PCI Promise ATA/66 (Though I've had that a while and didn't have issues before) And, I don't know if it makes a difference, but the main partition on the 120 GB drive (106 GB in size) is NTFS. |
You may need to use a different boot kernel for support for your ATA card. look in the bootdisks section on Slackware.com for info.
