Slackware 11 dvd not detected

My dvd-rom isn't detected when i use huge26,
same for test26, everything is fine until i choose the installation media,
I tried to specify hdc manualy, but it still isn't detected
But everything if i use bare.i

The drive is an LG, and worked fine on knoppix-current, same for FC installation

I heard somewhere that you needed to load extra modules for huge26, but how would i go about doing that, or is it the problem?

Well, I recommend that if it works with bare.i, boot it and install Slackware with bare.i and then switch to huge26.s if you want/need to and install the modules too. That's the easiest way, I think.

Already tried that

Within the last hours i tried to move to the 2.6 by compiling it into my already installed 2.4, but x, sound card, etc... didn't worked
I tried lsmod, which gave me no output at all (beside the Module, size... words) I can't even mount a cd/floppy, it won't detect neither
I also tried to edit fstab and mtab, but didn't worked

I'm thinking about booting 2.4 from dvd and performing the install from a nfs, so i could make the modules load from the nfs

PS: I can't just stick with the 2.4, i got a dual core
