Slack 10 fails to mount 100 GB IDE partition
I'm trying to install Slackware 10 on a 100 GB HD set as the primary IDE on an Asus A8V motherboard. I partition with cfdisk fine, then activate the swap without a problem. Actually, the installer seems to go through all of its routines without a hitch. When I try to boot from the HD instead of the CD, however, I just get a blinking cursor without a prompt or anything.
When I check the 4th terminal (configured to display install messages on the CD), it says it is unable to mount my newly-formatted partition.
I'm confused because the install messages say that it's unable to mount my root partition to install packages, but the graphical installer seems to continue like it's working fine.
