slack 10.1 on a sunblade 1000

ok i have a sunblade 1000 machine that doesnt have cd or floppy.
Im trying to convince my boss to go with linux as opposed to solaris.
In order to do this I have to obviously get it up and running and prove that its stable.

Anybody any experience with sparc/slackware
ill go off and read the docs now but any fyi's about installing linux by netbooting slackware

thanks

ronan

PS I have just come accross a very old and very heavy HP USB cdrom writer. Could i possibly do a boot USB?? with slack? and follow on that way?

I would recommend you to take a look here: http://splack.org/ since Slackware doesn't support Sparc processors.
Anyway, I think you should try to find a distribution that supports Sparc by default like Splack (which is Slackware actually) or Debian.
