sk98lin.o insmod errors
I am trying to install a driver for my D-Link ethernet card and it calls for the sk98lin.o module.
I see it is on the system but when I do a modprobe or insmod of sk98lin I get these errors: init_module: No such device Hint: insmod errors can be caused by incorrect module parameters, including invalid IO or IRQ parameters" Does this mean I am out of luck and the sk98lin.o module will never load?? |
I think sk98lin is a driver that you will have to download from DLink site too. I remember that my ethernet card drivers had the sk98lin drivers in them and it installed them.

I am about to give up on this ethernet card. I looked at /proc/pci and I should have seen a line in there for this new ethernet card and I do but it should read: "....1186:4C00 " But instead I see "...1186:4b01 .." ?? I presume that as long as the system sees that card as it does than things will never work. I went to D-Link and downloaded their driver. I installed it both with 'installpkg' and later by untarring the file and doing it manually. It doesn't give me anymore than what Slackware was already giving me.. So I am at a loss. My syslog reports that it can't find the card which is consistent with the difference in that /proc/pci file.. Any further help would be appreciated. Maybe I need a new options line for the modules.conf file? Current I have tried no options, and finally 'modprobe sk98lin AutoNeg=On,Off DupCap=Full,Half  |
