scsi_hostadapter


i have slackware10 with 2.4.26 kernel and one cdrom and one cdwriter
with hdx= ide-scsi in lilo.
x=hdc and hdd

the system is work great i can use my cdrom and cdwriter
but i see when the linux up :
kmod: failed to exec /sbin/modprobe -s -k scsi_hostadapter, errno = 2
kmod: failed to exec /sbin/modprobe -s -k scsi_hostadapter, errno = 2
kmod: failed to exec /sbin/modprobe -s -k scsi_hostadapter, errno = 2
see your syslog for more informathion

i look in /var/log/syslog
it says same:

kmod: failed to exec /sbin/modprobe -s -k scsi_hostadapter, errno = 2
kmod: failed to exec /sbin/modprobe -s -k scsi_hostadapter, errno = 2
kmod: failed to exec /sbin/modprobe -s -k scsi_hostadapter, errno = 2

note:nothing is wrong the system work great so why this and how can
i disable this messege.

As I remember it's a bug in one of the SCSI drivers. At any rate, it's nothing to worry about and can be ignored. If it bugs you, then you could try upgrading the 2.4.29 and/or compiling the SCSI drivers into the kernel vs supplying them as modules.

I have this problem trying to install sentinix on a PII.

I my case, the system won't start at all, i end up with a kernel panic: Out of memory and no killable processes...

Any suggestion?
