That is the problem- i have posted the link here because i didnt see the link to install problems- i dont want a os that is a work in progress- i want a stable release with fewer hickups than this os ( i have only been fully in to linux for a month now and behind mandrake for 1 week and this distro the next- now its time for slackware).

i have this kind of trouble before, but i found out that the cd was corrupted, so a new cd with a md5sum check fixed my problem. Other than that you can try just install software package "a" only. Then you work yourself up with other software packages. With only "a" in your pc, you are going to be at the deeper end of the pool. Sorry, I only know so much.
