Partitioning...which one do I boot?

Ok, so I'm installing Slackware. I have my system partitioned like so:

hda1:SwapDrive 2GB
hda2: "/" partition, 5GB
hda3: "/usr/local" partition
hda4: "/home: partition

so...it tells me I have to flag one of these to boot from.Which one? And is this order correct? It's a 160GB harddrive. Thanks!

If your boot record is stored on the MBR then you will want to boot from /dev/hda rather than one of the partitions, I believe.

Just install your bootloader in the MBR (Master Boot Record), not in any of the partition bootsectors.

- And the partition order is not that important.
I would advise against making a /home partition, though of course that is up to your private tastes. The thing is, a lot of setup files are stored in /home/yourusername, and if you keep the /home partition when you make another installation, you may run into a bit of trouble because the system tries to access the configuration files from your former installation.
I much prefer making a separate storage partition and mounting it as /mnt/storage.

If you ar talking about in cfdisk, make sure the partition with the /boot directory is marked bootable. I have never had problems with this set up.

it will depened upon, in which partion u will load lilo

if u r loading lilo in the 1st sector of root then make that as bootable
otherwise (If it is on MBR) no problem
